Q. Why would I choose Synergy Fitness and Sports over other fitness facilities that train the non-athlete as well as the junior, amateur or professional athletes?      [back ^]
A. Synergy has a multi-talented team of experts (Personal Trainers, Sports Performance Specialists, Chiropractors, Nutritionists, and Massage Therapists) at one location.  With the variety of programming available from One-on-One Personal/Performance or Corporate Training to UltraFit (EvoSport) Performance Training, we have the ability to evaluate each individual's strengths, weaknesses and goals and implement a highly individualized training program developed specifically to achieve results.  Synergy's facility provides every item necessary to achieve general-fitness conditioning (body fat reduction, muscle tone and cardiovascular fitness) to elite performance standards through a variety of strength training, regeneration and restorative measures and rehabilitation.  The facility along with the program application prepares clients for immediate or long-term results.  Whether it's overall fitness, body transformation, damage control/prevention of injury, enhanced athletic performance or prolonging your professional sport career, Synergy's staff makes it happen  Through continuous research and development, our personal trainers and sports performance staff are equipped with the knowledge and an arsenal of state-of-the-art equipment.  Our clients and athletes receive an individualized training program that applies this always evolving knowledge.  Our one-on-one personal training programs range from junior level (9 years of age) on up to the general client/executive.  Our corporate athlete program provides the non-athlete client with identical training parameters as the athletes.  It's a way to take it to the next level.  Our athletic enhancement programs range from junior (9 years of age), high school and collegiate level, to the professional.  Our professional athletes train exclusively with other professional athletes or one-on-one with a performance coach for undivided attention to technique and form.
Q. Can I train on my own or walk-in similar to a health club or gym?      [back ^]
A. No.  Training done at Synergy is by appointment only.  The hours available to personally train one-on-one are decided between you and the trainer.  For sports performance training, designated hours are structured to accommodate the athlete as best as possible.  For massage therapy, nutritional consultations and chiropractic appointments, scheduling is done between the client and the desired professional.
Q. At what age can I start a training program?      [back ^]
A. Learning good exercise habits, technique, form, proper position and movement can begin at any age based on the individuals' desire, goals and willingness to learn.  We have 8 year olds in our programs.  Learning properly keeps bad habits from forming in the early stages of exercise and/or athletic performance.  With the nutritional consultation incorporated with or systems, we address the importance of good eating habits as well.
Q. What are the costs of the programs?      [back ^]
A. Synergy is a high level operation and addresses every aspect necessary to ensure our clients' achieve their goals to the best of their ability.  We offer different levels of training to meet each client's budget and schedule.  All of our programs are purchased in either a monthly package or series (block) of hours and receive a nutritional consultation with our registered dietician, a one-hour massage therapy session and a postural assessment evaluation with our on staff Chiropractic physician on the initial package or series.  These amenities are included at no additional cost to the client.  Some of our programs incorporate massage therapy and sports psychology coaching to assistance with recovery of training.  There is a one-time fee of $200.00 to cover the cost of the clients' extensive evaluation.  Personal training hourly fees start at $70 per hour and drop to as low as $58 per hour.  Our UltraFit (EvoSport) training systems range from $175 per month (1 time per week) - $1,150 per month (multiple sessions per day, 5-6 days per week).  Single-day training sessions are also available.  Synergy has no monthly membership fees and you pay for only services rendered.  Our clients and athletes have stated that the money they spend at Synergy gives them a phenomenal return on investment  Their improvements in health and performance are priceless.
Q. What is the purpose of the evaluation?      [back ^]
A. Individuals that enter our programs for the first time are a physical mystery to us.  Performing the evaluation will help us completely assess the client.  There are three main reasons for the evaluation.  First, it gives us an indication of the current health and abilities of the client.  Second, it assists us in determining which program best suites the client.  And finally, it allows us a point of origin to monitor progress and adaptation of the training plan.  Each evaluation consist of, but is not limited to, a nutritional consultation, an in-balance test by an Applied Kinesiologist to determine whether or not the body is in biochemical balance and ensure that electrical impulses in the muscles are firing in the proper sequence to stabilize, health history, general screening (% body fat measurements, circumference measurements, height, weight, blood pressure), postural assessment, balance testing, kinetic chain profile, various strength tests, and performance testing (vertical jump, broad jump, 5-10-5 shuttle, 3-cone drill, 10, 20, 40 yard sprint, competitive readiness, field of vision).
Q. If I can't make a scheduled appointment (one-on-one personal training, sports performance training, massage therapy, nutritional consultation, chiropractic consultation, etc.) what should I do?      [back ^]
A. This does happen often due to unexpected occurrences.  This is our reason for the 24-hour cancellation policy.  If you cannot make a session that you already have scheduled, just notify the facility 24-hours prior to the session.  If you do not cancel the appointment within 24-hours, the session will be charged against your account.  When you cancel the session in time, you do not lose the session and can reschedule that session for a later date.
Q. If I miss an appointment (one-on-one personal training, sports performance training, massage therapy, nutritional consultation, chiropractic consultation, etc.) or I'm sick and can't make the session, do I lose the session?      [back ^]
A. It depends on the case.  The performance training (group only) session can be made up (if Synergy is notified prior to the appointment) within the current month, depending on the program.  This is at the discretion of the director and is limited to the availability of a performance coach and/or training session times.  For the one-on-one personal training, the missed or canceled appointment is at the trainer's discretion to charge.  There are two reasons for this.  First, by scheduling that appointment, you have reserved the time of the trainer.  Second, we limit the number of individuals training during any hour.  By canceling on short notice, the trainer is unable to fill that time slot with another appointment.  This is the reason for the 24-hour cancellation policy.  If you or the child participating in our program is feeling a bit under the weather the day before a session, we would suggest canceling the session at that time.
Q. Does Synergy consult with coaches or teams?      [back ^]
A. Yes we do.  Synergy offers a number of options from consulting to program installation at high schools, colleges/universities, health clubs, sport clubs and various professional teams/institutions.  We have been independently contracted by numerous high schools and organizations to implement our training systems.  Rates vary depending on group/team size, hours desired and location.
Q. If I'm a high school, collegiate or professional athlete, can I still train at Synergy if my team has specified an off-season training program for me?      [back ^]
A. Yes.  Synergy has a great reputation working with team head coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, and athletic trainers to assist in devising the proper training program to reach the athletes goals.  Once the program is developed we will review and discuss any questions with the team coaches.  With our high school teams we understand the importance of team unity and the importance of training as a team.  Although sometimes our training programs may overlap with the schools, we encourage the athlete to continue training at school, if deemed necessary, while we adapt the program to meet the needs of the athlete.
Q. What is the difference between ULTRA FIT training and the strength and conditioning program we presently use?      [back ^]
A. All strength programs - Olympic lifting , power lifting, or body building work the muscle primarily in concentric contraction ( the shortest length).

ULTRA FIT primarily works muscles in there longest and strongest length, by stressing eccentric contraction.
Q. How does ULTRA FIT training help reduce injuries?      [back ^]
A. All injuries are caused by the bodies inability to absorb force.  ULTRA FIT training is the only training which trains the body to absorb massive amounts of force.
Q. How does ULTRA FIT training improve speed and athleticism?      [back ^]
A. ULTRA FIT training trains and strengthens the body to contract and relax the appropriate muscles quickly to facilitate fluid movement.
